2026 DUES NOTICE FOR MEMBERS AND POTENTIAL MEMBERS OF THE FRIENDS OF THE ROBBINS TOWN GARDENS

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Your membership payment or other contribution may qualify as a tax-deductible donation. Please consider supporting the Friends of the Robbins Town Gardens by becoming a member, renewing your membership, or by contributing a donation, today.

Why is your membership or donation important?

Your membership dues and donations are critical for maintenance of the Town Gardens, since Town funding for maintenance only covers the cost for utilities, security, sanitation, litter control, reflecting pool maintenance, lawn mowing and some lawn fertilizing and seeding.

TheFriends of the Robbins Town Gardens was established to beautify, restore, maintain, preserve and improve the Winfield Robbins Memorial Garden (which includes the area around the Cyrus Dallin sculptures of the “Menotomy Indian Hunter” and the Dallin flagpole, the water cascade area and reflecting pool), and other landscaped areas around the Arlington

Town Hall and between the Town Hall and the Robbins Library, and to promote cultural tourism in the Town of Arlington.

As such, the Friends of the Robbins Town Gardens is responsible for providing volunteer forces, with assistance from Arlington Garden Club members, and raising funds for lawn, plant, and tree maintenance, including planting, weeding, mulching, edging, pruning, pest control, lawn aeration, shrub and tree fertilizing, individual plant and tree replacement, etc.

Currently, our volunteer efforts and fundraising activities just aren’t nearly sufficient to complete most of these maintenance tasks.  As you may know, the Friends of the Robbins Town Gardens was and will continue to be the driving force behind obtaining Community Preservation Act (CPA) grants that have provided for significant garden restoration work, including the complete reconstruction of the reflecting pool area, its new water recirculation plumbing, new walkways, and plant restoration around and on the hill behind the “Menotomy Indian Hunter” statue, and by the reflecting pool, brick plaza, and other areas.

But, by law, this funding can only cover capital improvements, and not the maintenance items noted above.

In addition to membership dues, we also pursue other funding opportunities to cover maintenance costs, such as our Annual Garden Party and Fundraiser (on Friday, June 5, 2026 this year) [which, unfortunately, usually breaks even], and potential state funding, a source that is always a proverbial shot-in-the-dark.  To date, we are significantly underfunded and we welcome any other fundraising suggestions you may have.

Please consider renewing your membership, becoming a new member, or making a donation. Again, memberships run from April 1st to March 31st each year, but donations are acceptable all year long. Payments may be made via:
